What is Listening to You Counselling?

                 Biography

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor.  I was educated at schools in Sussex and Oxfordshire, and went on to study at colleges in Henley and Oxford.

My career began as a PA in London in 1986.  I then moved on to work in a number of different areas including Graphic Design and Executive Search.  In 1993 I went to live and work in Hong Kong and found it surprisingly hard to adjust to the fast pace and transient way of life.  It was this experience that initiated my desire to learn more about human nature, our instinct for survival and our ability to cope outside our ‘comfort zone’.

In September 2004 I embarked on my first Counselling course, and knew immediately that Counselling was what I wanted to do.  After completing my initial training at Orpington College in Kent, I moved to Eastbourne and continued my Counselling studies at Sussex Downs College, finishing in August 2006. In December 2009 I became a qualified Samaritan, and an active Volunteer.  I work as a Counsellor in Eastbourne and London.

“So when you are listening to somebody, completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it.”  - Jiddu Krishnamurti (Philosopher & Author)
